The Chargers have an impressive duo of pass rushers in Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa, while the Texans have given up a league-leading 10 sacks in the first two weeks of the season.
The offensive line, quarterback and team as a whole is focused on being better in pass protection and picking up pressure.
“You try to correct everything, not only the mistakes from the previous week, but also just try to get better each and every week," Watson said Wednesday. "We knew that (Jacksonville) game was going to be tough. It’s an in-division game where both teams want to win and both teams took an L the week before.
“It’s really just getting the ball out," Watson said. "(Running backs) Duke (Johnson) and Carlos (Hyde) do a good job of getting in space whenever they can. It’s another thing the defense has to worry about in the passing game. You can’t just treat him like a running back. He has a chance to get the ball so you have to focus on him."
O'Brien commended the offensive line's performance. He said they played well but a lot goes into responding better to pressure.
"We're seeing a lot of pressure and we've got to do a better job against the pressure," O'Brien said. "We've got to understand that that involves more than the line. Sometimes there's guys coming that's not the line's responsibility. So, a lot goes into that. We have to cut down on it, we know that, we're working very hard to do that. Everybody is involved, coaches and players alike, but I think that the line has actually performed well for having some guys up there, rookies or guys that haven't been in the system for a long time."
