HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) – The Texans started their last drive down by six with 26 seconds remaining due to using their timeouts earlier in the half, and notably losing one on an unsuccessful challenge.

Early in the fourth quarter, Christian McCaffrey made a bobbling, diving catch on a 3rd & 7 that stretched his body just past the line to gain to give Carolina a first down.

O'Brien elected to challenge the play hoping that either the ball hit the ground and would be ruled incomplete, or that McCaffrey would be shy of the line to gain.

"I felt like he caught the ball, but I felt like he slid, you know and declared himself down, basically, to get the first down.  I felt like it was, he landed and slid and so I felt like I could challenge the spot, and the catch, but I felt like he probably did catch the ball, but I challenged both things, really, the spot and the catch," Texans' head coach Bill O'Brien said following the loss to Carolina.

After review, the play was upheld and the Texans lost a timeout that could have come in handy later in the game.
