Oliver, who is entering his second season with the Buffalo Bills, is facing misdemeanor charges of DWI and unlawfully carring a weapon.
He was arrested by the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable's Office, and was given a $1,350 total bail on both charges.
The Bills released a statement saying they are aware of the situation and are gathering more information, but declined further comment.
Oliver, a native of north Houston, is one of the most decorated football players in UH history.
He was an All-American in 2018 before the Bills drafted him with the ninth overall pick in 2019.
In his rookie season, Oliver had 43 total tackles, five sacks and eight quarterback hits.
