HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) - The 2-year-old girl who was struck by a foul ball at an Astros game in May suffered a skull fracture, according to the office of Richard Mithoff, the attorney hired by the family.
The girl was injured on May 29, 2019, when she was struck in the head by a foul ball the bat of Chicago Cubs outfielder, Albert Almora Jr., at Minute Maid Park.
According to Mithoff's office, the child had a seizure in which medication is preventing recurrences and sustained the skull fracture with associated subdural bleeding, brain contusions, and brain edema.
"She is doing relatively well, but she has had a seizure and the abnormal EEG, and so it's going to be a matter of time," Mithoff said.
No lawsuit has been filed, but Mithoff said he contacted the Astros to inform them that he and attorney Steve Polotko will be representing the family to consult about their options moving forward.
