HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- With one out in the bottom of the 10th inning, Yuli Gurriel smacked a 2-2 fastball from Matt Festa over the Crawford Boxes, sending the Astros to a 2-1 win over the Seattle Mariners Friday night at Minute Maid Park.

Gurriel's eighth home run of the season was his only hit of the night as the Astros avoided losing for the 10th time in 12 games and improved to 51-32 on the season.

Offense was at a premium for both teams with Seattle's only run of the night coming when Austin Nola dumped a 2-2 fastball from Wade Miley into the Crawford Boxes for his first Major League home run. That was the only run Miley allowed in six innings, but he left trailing after the Astros failed to score in the first inning against Mariners opener Matt Carasiti and were held off the board for the next five innings by Tommy Millone.

With Miley out of the game in the seventh, Josh James worked out of a bases loaded jame to keep it a one run game, and in the bottom of the inning, the Astros loaded the bases with one out, but failed when Jose Altuve grounded into a fielder's choice and Alex Bregman struck out, but following Ryan Pressly's 1-2-3 top of the eighth inning, Josh Reddick tied the game when he clubbed a 2-2 slider from former Astro Anthony Bass over the rightfield wall for his 10th home run of the season.

Roberto Osuna and Festa threw up zeroes in the ninth, with Will Harris working around a leadoff single in the 10th before Gurriel ended the game.

Bregman finished the game with three hits, while Robinson Chrinos added a double and a pair of walks.

Nola and J.P. Crawford collected two hits for the Mariners, who drop to 37-49.

In Saturday's middle game against the Mariners, Justin Verlander will take the mound for the Astros against Yusei Kikuchi.
