HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) - The Houston Rockets are looking to deal Carmelo Anthony, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, but will not waive the 15-year veteran.
The Rockets will continue to probe for Carmelo Anthony trades to clear roster spot for Kenneth Faried, but have no intention of waiving 'Melo, league sources tell ESPN. More likely scenario is releasing James Nunnally, who is on 10-day contract.

Ideally, the Rockets would move Anthony in order to sign forward Kenneth Faried after he clears waivers Monday. If they cannot the right deal for Anthony, they are likely to waive James Nunnally, who signed a 10-day contract earlier this week.
Carmelo Anthony officially became a member of the Houston Rockets in August, when he signed a one-year contract at the league's veteran minimum of $2.4 million. Anthony only played in 10 total games this season before the Rockets general manager, Daryl Morey, said, "The fit we envisioned when Carmelo chose to sign with the Rockets has not materialized, therefore we thought it was best to move on as any other outcome would have been unfair to him."
The Rockets have until February 7, 2019, to trade Anthony.
