One of the hottest topics in Houston is what the Houston Texans will do with the 23rd pick of the 2019 NFL Draft? One of the most respected members of the draft media is NFL Network draft analyst, Daniel Jeremiah. Jeremiah was a collegiate quarterback, a former NFL scout, and is highly regarded as one of the most credible sources for NFL Draft news.

Despite the need for a tackle or cornerback at number twenty-three, Jeremiah has the Texans taking the tight end, TJ Hockenson, out of Iowa in his latest draft. Now, many would be scratching their heads because the Texans drafted two tight ends in last year's draft (Jordan Thomas and Jordan Akins), so why would the Texans target another tight end?

Mad Radio reacted to the release of Jeremiah's draft Thursday morning and may have the reasons why the Texans would be selecting a tight end in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

"Daniel Jeremiah is a former [NFL> scout, who is as plugged in as anyone else is," said former Houston Texans and host of Mad Radio, Seth Payne. "When he does his mock draft, he does it based not on what he sees, necessarily, but what he hears."

Does the information that Jeremiah has about the Texans first-round draft pick help us understand their plan for free agency?

"There's only one way the Texans take Hockenson in the first round," said Mike Meltser, from Mad Radio. "That way is if next week, the Texans spend big money on an offensive tackle, like Trent Brown, and a big money cornerback, like Ronald Darby."

If the Houston Texans make a big splash in free agency, then, yes, the Texans could select their third tight end, in two years, with the 23rd overall pick.
