HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) - The Houston Texans were active in the first day of free agency with offering a long-term contract to free-agent safety Tyrann Mathieu and re-signing or extended qualifying offers to six players.
Monday evening we learned that Tyrann Mathieu planned to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs.

K Ka'imi Fairbairn
A $3.095 million second-round tender to the restricted free agent kicker. Fairbairn led the NFL last season with 150 points but was not selected to the Pro Bowl.
NT Brandon Dunn
A $2.025 million original-round restricted free agent tender to the defensive lineman who started ten games last season, twenty-four tackles, and an interception.
OLB Brennan Scarlett
A $2.025MM original-round restricted free agent tender for the three-year veteran, who stood out in special teams play.
WR DeAndre Carter
Signed an undisclosed contract. Claimed off waivers in week seven and looked like a true return man.
DE Joel Heath
Signed to a new one-year contract.
