HOUSTON, TX (SPORTSRADIO 610) - The Houston Texans are expected to promote Tim Kelly from Tight Ends Coach to Offensive Coordinator.

The promotion, as reported first by alexmarvez, from SiriusXM NFL, has not been made official by the Texans.

Source tells me Tim Kelly is being promoted to become new @HoustonTexans offensive coordinator & Will Lawing is being promoted from offensive assistant/offensive line to TEs coach replacing Kelly

Expeted to replace Kelly as the Tight End Coach is Will Lawing, who followed head coach, Bill O'Brien, from Penn State.

Like Tim Kelly, who’s being promoted from TEs to OC, new TE coach Will Lawing followed Bill O’Brien from Penn State to the Texans in 2014. Lawing was defensive quality control coach first 3 seasons and worked with OL coach Mike Devlin last 2 seasons.

Former Texans linebacker Brian Cushing has also joined the coaching staff as a strength and conditioning coach and will assist with the defense.
