HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Major League Baseball announced Wednesday afternoon that Los Angeles Angels pitcher Noe Ramirez has been suspended three games for throwing the head area of Astros outfielder Jake Marisnick Tuesday night.
Ramirez hit Marisnick in the sixth inning of the Angels 7-2 win over the Astros Tuesday night in what was believed to be retaliation for Marisnick's collision with Angels catcher Jonathan Lucroy July 7 which resulted in a concussion and fractured nose for Lucroy. Marisnick appealed a two game suspension that came as a result of the play.
There's no word on if Ramirez will appeal the suspension. If he does, he'd be avaialble for the Angels game against the Astros Wednesday night.
Angels manager Brad Ausmus was handed a one game suspension by Major League Baseball, which he'll serve Wednesday.
