(SportsRadio 610) -- Rockets forward Thabo Sefolosha will not join the team next week when they travel to Orlando to restart the NBA season, according to multiple reports.

Sefolosha is opting out of the restart in Orlando, where the Rockets are scheduled to travel July 9 in preparation for the eight-game regular season and playoffs. ESPN's Adrian Wojarnowski first reported the news.

The Rockets had been prepared for this possibility, according to Kelly Iko at The Athletic

So far, Sefolosha is the only known Rockets player to opt out. He joins a host of professional athletes in the NBA and Major League Baseball who have decided not to compete during the coronavirus pandemic.

Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni said Wednesday the team was dealing with the virus like everyone else, but that it should not affect the July 9 trip to Orlando.

Sefolosha played a limited role for the Rockets this season, averaging just 2.2 points in 10.6 minutes over 41 games.
