The Big 12, Big Ten, AAC, Pac-12, Western Athletic Conference and Conference USA are among the conferences that have canceled their men's and woman's basketball tournaments on Thursday.
The Southland Conference, which holds its tournament in Katy, is also canceling the remainder of the tournament.
The Texas and Texas Tech men's basketball teams were in the middle of their matchup at the Sprint Center in Kansas City when players were taken off of the court and returned to their locker rooms, according to multiple reports.
The Big East was the last of the major conferences to cancel its tournament.
