Houston (SPORTSRADIO 610) - Gerrit Cole had another masterful performance in the American League Division Series Thursday night at Minute Maid Park. He went eight innings, allowing just two hits, two walks, and striking out ten. He got plenty of run support and the Astros went on to best the Rays by a final score of 6-1 and advance to the American League Championship Series to face the Yankees.

It was Cole’s third career double-digit strikeout game in the postseason.

The Astros lineup finally came alive with a four-run first inning off of Rays starter Tyler Glasnow. Jose Altuve and Yuli Gurriel each drove in a run, and Alex Bregman notched two RBI’s. Also, Altuve and Michael Brantley hit solo home runs in the eighth.
