HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) – Drew Brees is one of the greatest quarterback of all time, a guaranteed hall of famer that has seemingly defied age. Pair Brees with an offensive mastermind like Saints' Head Coach Sean Payton, and you have an offense that's tough to stop.
"They play at a great tempo, they're very disciplined, they don't make a lot of mistakes. They have great players with a hall of fame quarterback and a great play caller in Sean Payton. They've been doing a long time together, and they know what to do and what to expect from each other."
The Texans know they have their hands full with Brees and the Saints offense, but they still give respect where respect is due.
"He's one of the best to ever do it. The level he's done it at, for the amount of time he's done it at. He's a guy that's so well respected around the league, because of the way he attacks the game, the way he respects the game and the way he goes about his business. He's an incredible player and a guy that a lot of people around the league look to as an unbelievable talent and a guy who's done it the right way for a very long time," Texans' defensive end J.J. Watt said of Brees.
Brees, 40, enters his 19th year in the NFL and holds the crown for the most passing yards in NFL history with 74,437. His 520 touchdowns are the second most all time and just 19 touchdowns behind Peyton Manning.
"It's amazing to see what he's done. Actually this summer, I was looking at his stats and looking at the amount of years he had five thousand yards, five thousand yards, five thousand yards, four thousand yards and constantly doing it every year," Texans' quarterback Deshaun Watson said. "It's mind blowing, the numbers and the stats and the things he's doing. He's a guy I look up to. He's a great role model, great family guy, great father. He's a guy I look up to."
