HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) – Bob McNair will be the next inductee into the Texans' Ring of Honor on October 6 as part of the first Founder's Day celebration.

"That's something that the whole organization feels so strong about. What he's done for the city of Houston, what he did to bring pro football back to Houston.  It's going to be a great day to have him inducted into the Ring of Honor," Texans Head Coach Bill O'Brien said.

The Texans made the announcement during Tuesday's annual Texans Kick-off Luncheon, and the date is symbolic for the Texans' organization as it will be 20 years to the date of the NFL naming Houston as the league's 32nd franchise.

"This is the first luncheon without Bob McNair and we all miss him," O'Brien told the sold out crowd attending the luncheon.

As part of the Founder's Day tradition, the Houston Texans staff will also complete a service project to honor McNair.
