(SportsRadio 610) -- Ryan Pressly was at Minute Maid Park on Monday morning preparing for what was supposed to be a normal workout before the start of the Astros 2020 season when he and his teammates were abruptly told to go home.

"When they first came in and told us to leave the stadium, I thought originally somebody had tested positive (for Covid-19)," Pressly recalled Tuesday. "We were all kind of in the same room, I guess, and I thought everybody was kind of hitting the panic button."

Pressly and his teammates weren't sent away because someone tested positive for Covid-19 but because the Astros hadn't gotten the results back from the tests that were administered on Friday. The Astros joined a number of teams forced to cancel workouts Monday as due to testing issues as Major League Baseball tries to play a season in the midst of a global pandemic. Pressly says he received a text message from trainer Jeremiah Randall at 9:00 Monday night alerting him that every Astro tested negative and that Tuesday's workout would go on as scheduled.

"They got everything worked out," Pressly said. "It's just one of those things we're just gonna have Keep working through."

Major League Baseball blamed July 4 weekend for the testing issues, reasoning accepted by Pressly, who is remaining patient with the process understanding everyone is in uncharted waters.

"There was a couple of hiccups, as we all know, but I think like I said, you know, this is new for everybody, and we just need to learn how to make adjustments on the fly. Once we're able to do that I think everything will run a lot smoother. It's just it's a new system right now, so they're everybody's trying to work the kinks out, but I think as the days and weeks go on we'll get better and smoother as we go on."
