(SportsRadio 610) -- Randall Cobb is entering his 10th NFL season and has agreed to spend it as the Texans' slot receiver.

In his first six seasons, Cobb made playoff appearances with the Green Bay Packers, led by Aaron Rodgers. The last three seasons haven't been as kind to Cobb, who spent last season with Dallas Cowboys before agreeing to a three-year, $27 million deal with the Texans this offseason.

Due to the unprecedented nature of the coronavirus outbreak, which has caused most of America to self-quarantine, Cobb hasn't even taken his physical or signed his deal yet.

But his reason for choosing the Texans in free agency (aside from the $9 million a year)?

"I think that you look at what they've been able to do over the past few years – went to the playoffs four of the past five times. At this point in my career, I still don't have a ring, so I want to be in a situation where I have that possibility," Cobb told media in Friday a conference call. "I think when you look at Deshaun (Watson) and what he's been able to do since he's been in the league, I've been really impressed from afar watching him. He has tremendous ability, he's a winner. He's won at every level, from high school to college. I think he has that ability to take us to a Super Bowl and I want to be a part of something special with him."

Cobb said a few teams made offers or showed interest, but his decision came down to Dallas and Houston.

He said O'Brien told his agent how the Texans planned to use him in the offense, allowing him to do more of what he did in Green Bay.

When Cobb watches Texans' highlights, he sees their slot receivers running similar routes to what he became used to with the Packers.

Cobb spent his first eight seasons playing with Rodgers, who has been known for scrambling and making plays after the initial one breaks down, like Watson.

"I see a lot of the same characteristics in Deshaun (Watson), the way he's able to escape the pocket and keep his eyes downfield and find receivers," Cobb said.

Cobb spends his offseasons in Los Angeles, where the coronavirus threat is even more pronounced.  He said he's been texting with Watson and fellow wide receiver Kenny Stills, who he's worked out with in the past.

"Obviously it's an unprecedented time with what's going on. I don't know how long we're going to be stuck in L.A. and when we're going to be able to get down to Houston and find a house and start training down there and everything," Cobb said. "I look forward to getting to know everybody and meeting everybody and starting to mesh together."
