(SportsRadio 610) -- The Texans could be making a draft selection in the first round after all.
According to ESPN's Dianna Russini, the Texans have called some teams to trade up into the first round.
General manager and head coach Bill O'Brien, as Russini notes, is not afraid to make trades.
I'd file this in the category as "right on brand", I'm told the Texans have called some teams to trade up into the first round. Bill O'Brien never scared to make a trade. #Texans
— Dianna Russini (@diannaESPN) April 23, 2020In fact, that's the reason the Texans don't have a first round pick in 2020.
O'Brien traded this year's and the 2021 first round picks to the Miami Dolphins for offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil.
There were also the high-profile trades of Jadeveon Clowney last season, and DeAndre Hopkins last month.
The Hopkins trade yielded the 40th overall selection in this draft, which would be the Texans' first pick if they don't trade up.
Houston has several needs on the defensive side of the ball, including along the defensive line and in the secondary.
