HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Austin Rivers will return to the Rockets next season after ESPN reported Monday he and the team have agreed on a two-year contract.

Rivers, 26, joined the Rockets December 24 after a buyout from the Phoenix Suns, and became a crucial role player who found himself on the floor during crunch time of the Rockets playoff run. He averaged 8.7 points in 26.8 minutes in 47 games, making 13 starts.

The Houston Chronicle reports will make the veteran's minimum of $2.17 million next season.
