HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) -- Thabo Sefolosha is officially the newest member of the Houston Rockets.
General manager Daryl Morey announced the team signing the free agent forward Monday.
Sefolosha is a veteran who played with James Harden and Russell Westbrook for the Oklahoma City Thunder. All three were part of the 2011-12 team that went to the NBA Finals.
From 2008-09 through 2013-14, Sefolosha started 367 of his 368 games played for Oklahoma City, but when Harden was the sixth man.
Sefolosha could add value to the team with his perimeter defense and shooting.
He shot just over 40 percent from 3-point range over the past two seasons. The team noted Sefolosha also shot 47.7 percent from the floor over the past four seasons, showing an improvement of shooting 44 percent in his first nine.
