(SportsRadio 610) -- A quarter-century after completing back-to-back NBA championship runs with the Houston Rockets, former head coach Rudy Tomjanovich is headed to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Rudy T is part of
an elite class, which includes Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Tamika Catchings and the late Kobe Bryant.
It should surprise no one that Rudy T is asking his former Rockets teammate and fellow Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy to present him at the induction ceremony. Rudy T says he'll also ask Hakeem Olajuwon, his best player.
"If Hakeem isn't on the team when I get the job, you guys will probably be saying 'hey remember that guy with the long last name who used to play for the Rockets.' People wouldn't know who I am right now. I was just blessed to have such a great player that we could build around. He's the key ingredient to this whole deal."
Tomjanovich is one of nine NBA coaches to win back-to-back championships, one of 14 coaches with two or more NBA championships.
