(SportsRadio 610) -- With so many unanswered questions by NFL players and coaches about how to safely conduct a season during a pandemic, Texans safety Justin Reid says the league should push it back a couple of weeks.

"There still are so many questions circling on how we're going to be able to have a season," Reid told reporters Monday. "What's that experience going to be like for the fans? How are we going to be able to make sure we're keeping not only the players, but the players' families safe? I think it would just buy a little time for the questions to be answered."

While Texans and Kansas City Chiefs rookies are scheduled to report to training camp Saturday, there are still procedural obstacles.

All players must take COVID-19 tests 48 hours in advance, and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday that neither team had received clearance from the NFL and all 32 teams are awaiting word form the league on how to proceed.

"I think it would be beneficial to delay the season two or three weeks, so that way we can answer a lot of those questions that, us as players, people as far as the fans and the coaching staff, just procedurally questions on how the season is going to happen," Reid said.
