The Houston Texans failed in multiple red zone opportunities and could not recover on the road against the Indianapolis Colts, falling 30-23 in the AFC South showdown.
Houston's offense was largely ineffective, particularly in the first half, when the Texans could only manage field goals in three red zone trips.
They trialed 14-9 at halftime. In the third quarter, the Texans could never cut the Colts' lead to less than five points.
Houston scored on a four-yard run by Keke Coutee in the third quarter after a four-yard touchdown pass to Colts tight end Eric Ebron.
The Colts took a 28-16 lead toward the end of the third quarter after Zach Pascal's second touchdown catch of the game.
DeAndre Hopkins' touchdown in the fourth quarter cut into the Texans lead, but a safety by the Texans added two points for the Colts.
Penalties also hurt the Texans on Sunday. They were penalized 10 times for 54 yards.
Indianapolis (4-2, 2-0) lead the AFC South over Houston (4-3, 1-1).
