HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) – Quarterback Alex McGough is headed from the Texans practice squad to their active roster.
McGough, who was drafted in the seventh round out of Florida International by the Seattle Seahawks in 2018, started the season on the 10-man practice squad.
He was signed to the active roster to prevent another team from signing him. The move is not in response to Deshaun Watson bruising his back side in Monday night's loss to the Saints and AJ McCarron is still the backup quarterback.
To make room for McGough, the Texans waived cornerback Cornell Armstrong.
