UH won their 15th game in a row to start the season on Sunday when they beat Memphis, 90-77 to improve their record to 15-0 overall and 2-0 in American Conference play. With the win, the Cougars extending their home winning streak to 28 in a row, the nation’s longest home winning streak.
Freshman Nate Hinton scored a career high 19 points with a career high nine rebounds in the win against Memphis, and was named the American Conference Freshman of the Week on Monday.
In addition to being ranked in both polls, UH is also No. 4 in the N.E.T. ranking, which is what the selection committee will be using this season instead of the RPI.
The Cougars face a stiff test on Wednesday when they head to Philadelphia to face Temple, and then close the week with a Saturday home game against Wichita State.
