(SportsRadio 610) A player for the Seattle Dragons who faced the Houston Roughnecks on March 7 has tested positive for COVID-19, the XFL confirmed Sunday.

The player was not showing symptoms when he played against the Roughnecks, but he self-reported to a team medical official last Tuesday and has been in quarantine since, according to the XFL.

Results from the player's test were received Friday, confirming his coronavirus diagnosis.

All Dragons players met with team medical staff Friday for exit physicals, the XFL statement said. Each player was screened for symptoms, educated on the Center for Disease Control recommended guidelines and offered free extended-stay housing for those who chose to self-quarantine, according to the XFL.

"The league is alerting players, staff, vendors, and partners associated with the Dragons, Roughnecks and Battlehawks, as this player also particpated in the February 29 game in St. Louis. The XFL is monitoring the situation closely and taking every measure necessary in accordance with recommendations set forth by the CDC and the Washington State Department of Health."
