WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (SportsRadio 610) -- While reporters swarmed around Carlos Correa's locker on Sunday, the Astros shortstop was still sleeping.
The locker room opened at 9 a.m., and media members raced to get a word with Correa, who had given a explosive interviews the previous day responding to critical comments from Los Angeles Dodgers star Cody Bellinger.
But Correa didn't even wake up until 10 a.m.
It was his final off-day before officially reporting to spring training Monday, when position players were expected to arrive.
Correa made the most of it.
He watched the Oscar award-winning movie Parasite, which won four Oscars this year. Then he watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, from which me may have developed a man-crush on Brad Pitt.
Correa finished his movie binge with The Two Popes from Netflix.
He says he went 3-for-3 on movies Sunday.
It seems as though he made a point to stay above the fray before starting the grind of spring training and a 162-game season.
Correa clearly wanted to avoid discussions of the Astros' sign-stealing scandal, which is all anyone in baseball has been talking about for the past month.
The Astros star, however, took Sunday to clear his head.
"My family's good, my marriage is great, my dogs are doing good," Correa said Monday. "My team is ready to compete. So yeah man, we're ready to start the season. Yesterday was super relaxing. It was a great day, 3-for-3 went it came down to the movies. So I did a good job of picking them."
