HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- Deshaun Watson's eye probably feels better than it did two weeks ago, when he thought a Raiders linebacker may have kicked his eyeball out of its socket.

Watson responded by adjusting his facemask and finding tight end Darren Fells in the end zone for what was ultimately the game defining score.

Since then, Watson's eye has been noticeably swollen and red. He contemplated using a visor in the Texans' most recent game against the Jaguars in London, but decided against it before kickoff.

It's been more than two weeks since Watson took that shot to the eye.

When asked about the health of his quarterback, Texans head coach Bill O'Brien commended his toughness, despite taking such a tough shot.

"I think amazingly enough, he doesn't complain about his eye at all," O'Brien said. "He did definitely get kicked in the eye but he does not complain about it at all. I think there's some blood shot there. I'm sure it doesn't feel great, but I think it feels better now than it did two weeks ago."

The bye week certainly helped in the recovery process, as it did for all of the Texans injured players who are working to get back on the field.

That includes players like cornerbacks Bradley Roby (hamstring), Johnathan Joseph (hamstring), Lonnie Johnson Jr. (concussion), safety Tashaun Gipson Sr. (back/wrist), wide receiver Will Fuller V (hamstring) and  left tackle Laremy Tunsil (shoulder).

O'Brien said those players are trending in the right direction, but he'll know more about their availability as the week goes on.

The Texans face the Baltimore Ravens, who lead the AFC South behind a prolific running game centered around quarterback Lamar Jackson.

O'Brien spoke highly of Jackson and the Ravens coaching staff.

"The Ravens are one of the best teams in the NFL for a lot of different reasons," O'Brien said. "They've got good schemes. Obviously, offensively the Ravens offense is a very difficult one to prepare for. They do a lot of different things, different option-type plays, play action plays, running plays. I mean they just have a lot of different ways to come at you.

"And then defensively, they do a lot. Obviously, the Ravens have always been good on defense and so it's a difficult team to prepare for. We just need to take it day to day and make sure that we're doing the best we can to be ready to go."
