HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- J.J. Watt is working toward a comeback this season after suffering a torn pectoral against the Oakland Raiders in October.
It's unclear whether Watt will be able to mount the comeback, as he was expected to miss the rest of the season.
But there's been speculation for a couple of weeks that Watt could return in time for a playoff run.
Texans head coach Bill O'Brien was asked about Watt's status Monday and had this to say:
"I'm going to tell you that J.J. is working very, very hard and he has certainly made progress based solely on his work ethic and who he is working with in the training room, and we'll see how it goes."
The Texans have struggled getting to the quarterback in Watt's absence.
Despite missing the past six games, Watt still leads the team with 20 quarterback hits and is second behind Whitney Mercilus with four sacks.
His presence would be a major boost for the Texans' defense.
