The NFL season had 34 arrests in 2018 with charges ranging from DUI or drug possession to criminal threats with an assault rifle and insider trading.
When former NFL head coach and now analyst, Brian Billick, stopped by Radio Row at Super Bowl LIII to talk with In The Loop, Landry Locker referenced how Ray Lewis was indicted on two counts of murder and asked Billick how a coach handles major distractions and his experience in 2000.
"The hardest thing was - and I was just a second-year coach, and now this gets dumped on your lap," said the Super Bowl-winning Billick. "Who do you talk to? - Where's the handbook for that?"
Billick went on to say that the Baltimore Ravens organization had an unquestionable faith in Ray Lewis and they needed to let the circumstances play out. "Once we got to training camp - not to be mercenary about it or minimize the loss of life that was involved with it - it helped galvanize the team," Billick continued. "Having to deal with that, during the course of the season, I think that was something that brought that team together rallying around Ray."
