Thirteen up, thirteen down. Jon 'Bones' Jones has successfully defended his UFC Light Heavyweight title for a bakers dozen.
Jon Jones has been unstoppable for over a decade now, and has shown no signs of slowing down.
Winning the UFC Light Heavyweight title in 2011, Jones's winning streak has featured all-time greats to now fresh 205-pound contenders.
Jones is slowly inching closer to fighting almost four decades of fighters, with him on Wednesday affirming that he, "wants to be here for the whole next decade, and I want to be the champion for the next decade."
Undefeated contender Dominick Reyes will be the next challenger Jones faces in the Octagon. Reyes has beaten multiple high level light heavyweights during his climb to title contention, including former middleweight champion Chris Weidman.
"I got to be creative, I got to get out of my comfort zone doing different things, and go for it," Reyes said on Wednesday when asked about facing Jones' defense.
Jones said "You dealing with a wild dog here, you don't want to reach in and get bit. You have to come in with a really strategic approach."
Reyes spoke about having his camp 'In the darkness,' not having fancy training facilities or cameras following him around allowing him to be in a flow rather than being interrupted by people.
Standing at 6'4 and with a 77-inch reach, Reyes is certainly the tallest and longest opponent Jones has faced in since retiring Alexander Gustafsson the only contender to truly give Jones a run for his money.
Could the young challenger be the one to dethrone the GOAT?
