Floyd Mayweather Jr. is stepping back into the ring, and this time he is taking on boxing’s new star Logan Paul.
Mayweather and Paul have agreed to an exhibition boxing match on June 6 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
The two had originally been scheduled to fight in February, but COVID restrictions would not allow for a full stadium. With vaccinations continuing to be on the rise, an outdoor event in Miami will at least allow a decent amount of fans to attend.
Mayweather, 44, is 50-0 in his career but because this is an exhibition, the result would not count toward his record. He last stepped foot in the ring for an exhibition match against kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa on Dec. 31, 2018, which Mayweather won.
Mayweather last fought professionally in 2017 when he defeated UFC star Conor McGregor in a highly anticipated match.
Paul, 26, has just one professional fight under his belt — a loss to fellow YouTube star KSI in 2019. He also fought KSI to a draw the year prior in an amateur match.
Under the terms, the 6-foot-2 Paul will be required to weigh in at no more than 190 pounds while Mayweather, who is four inches shorter, is restricted to 168 pounds.
Paul’s brother, Jake, has had more success in the ring, winning three fights by knockout, including last weekend when he defeated former MMA fighter Ben Askren.
