Astros evaluating Alex Bregman after removal from rehab stint with hamstring tightness

(SportsRadio 610) -- Astros third baseman Alex Bregman was never supposed to return to the Triple A Sugar Land Skeeters lineup Monday night after leaving the previous game early with hamstring tightness.

Instead, Bregman appeared at the ballpark Monday to run and for the team to determine their next steps.

Astros general manager James Click tells Mark Berman of FOX 26 that Bregman may have been posted in Monday's Skeeters lineup in error.

Bregman has been rehabbing from a quad injury, which has sidelined him since June 17. He's dealt with hamstring injuries in the past two seasons.

With Bregman out, the Astros have played a combination of Robel Garcia, Aledymys Diaz and Abraham Toro, who was traded before the deadline, at third base.
