Alex Bregman hit a walk-off home run to lift the Astros past the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-6 on Saturday night.
The Astros had trailed 5-0 in the sixth inning in one of Ronel Blanco's toughest starts of the season. But the offense picked it up, trimming the lead to just one run in the bottom half of that inning.
After a scoreless top half of the ninth pitched by Houston's closer Josh Hader, an opportunity was created for Bregman and he seized it. On the second pitch he saw from Blake Treinen, a sinker up in the zone, Bregman crushed it 407 feet to the train tracks at Minute Maid Park.
With back-to-back wins against the Dodgers, Houston (55-49) sits with a one-game lead over the Seattle Mariners atop the American League West standings.
