It remains to be seen if Chaim Bloom has any intention on bringing back Alex Cora. But it does appear the former Red Sox manager might have one more option than originally believed.
Riding one of baseball's most exciting young group of players, the White Sox made the postseason with a 35-25 record. Chicago was bounced from the Wild Card round by the A's.
Tigers general manager Al Avila mentioned that Cora, who interviewed with Detroit prior to the 2018 season, is in the mix for that club's managing job.
The Red Sox Chief Baseball Officer said following the 2020 season he wouldn't be commenting on the team's approach to Cora until he was allowed to talk to the former Sox manager. Cora remains on a one-year suspension for his role in the Astros' 2017 cheating scandal, which ends at the completion of the World Series.
