As they begin the post All Star Break portion of their schedule Friday night in Chicago, the Astros have activated Carlos Correa from the Injured List, according to Major League Baseball's transaction log.
Correa missed the Astros 3-game series against the New York Yankees after being placed on the IL for health and safety protocols on July 9. It marked the first time since the end of the 2019 season that he had missed back-to-back games.
Selected to the American League All Star Team for the second time, Correa is batting .288 with 16 home runs and 52 RBI this season in 82 games. He is slated to become a free agent this winter.
To make room for Correa on the 26-man roster, the Astros optioned Taylor Jones to AAA Sugar Land.
