HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez will make their return to the Astros lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the Texas Rangers after the team activated both off the 10-day injured list.
Alvarez has missed the last 45 games after suffering an oblique injury on June 8 in Toronto while Altuve has missed 17 straight games due to a left oblique injury of his own.
To make room for the two All-Stars on the 26-man roster, the Astros optioned Bligh Madris and David Hensley to Triple-A Sugar Land.
Prior to his IL trip Alvarez was hitting .277 with a team best 17 home runs and 44 RBI which earned him a second consecutive American League All-Star selection.
