HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Astros closer Ryan Pressly has been activated from the 10-day injured, the team announced before Thursday's game against the Detroit Tigers.
Pressly was placed on the injured list April 16 after returning to Houston while the team was on its season opening road trip to have his right knee drained. Pressly was not scored on in his first three appearances of the season, but took the loss in an extra innings loss in Arizona on April 13 and he has experienced close to a 3 MPH drop in velocity.
The two-time All Star agreed to a two-year, $28 million extension the day before opening day, that includes an option for a third year.
To make room for Pressly on the 26-man roster, the Astros optioned pitcher Parker Mushinski to Triple-A Sugar Land.
