WEST PALM BEACH, FL (SportsRadio 610)- Former Astros general manager James Click called Astros manager Dusty Baker on Monday and told him he got a new job.
"I guess he's with Toronto, good organization, good guy in (President and CEO Mark) Shapiro, over there, I knew him when he was in Cleveland, so I'm glad for him," Baker said.
The Blue Jays named Click their Vice President of Baseball Strategy on Monday almost four months after he celebrated a World Series title with the Astros, after which he and the team parted ways when the two sides couldn't agree on a new contract.
"I always thought he had a bright future, just sometimes things don't workout."
Click, 45, joined the Astros in 2020 after spending 14 years in the Tampa Bay Rays front office.
