The Astros' offense cranked up Wednesday afternoon against the New York Mets at Minute Maid Park.

With a pair of two-run home runs from Yainer Diaz and Chas McCormick, plus three hits from Alex Bregman, the Astros were able to beat the Mets 10-8 to take two of three from the series.

Houston starter Cristian Javier was not sharp and the Astros fell behind 4-2 early in the game. Corey Julks tied the game in the third inning when he singled to center field to score Kyle Tucker and Bregman.

McCormick then put the Astros up 6-4 with a two-run homer, but Daniel Vogelbach drove in two with a single in a fourth to once again tie the game.

Bregman responded with an RBI-single in the fourth to put the Astros up for good. Pete Alonso homered off Rafael Montero in the sixth inning to pull the Mets within a run before Martin Maldonado's sacrifice bunt in the seventh set the final score.

The Astros (41-34) get a much-needed day off Thursday as they travel to Dodger Stadium for a three-game weekend series.
