HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Michael Brantley and Ryan Pressly will not participate in Tuesday's Major League Baseball All Star Game in Denver, the Astros announced Saturday morning.
Brantley will remain in Houston to rest an injury, right side soreness, which held him out of two games last weekend in Cleveland, while Pressly will stay with his wife, who is nearing the end of her first pregnancy.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to stay home during All-Star weekend with my wife Kat to prepare for the upcoming birth of our first child Wyatt, who is due very soon," Pressly said in a statement. "I am extremely grateful to be selected for my second All-Star Game, but my place is at my wife’s side at this late stage of her pregnancy.“
Brantley and Pressly will join Carlos Correa and Jose Altuve on the sidelines for the All Star Game, after they announced on Thursday they would miss the mid-summer classic. Altuve will rest a left leg injury and Correa will remain with his wife, who is expecting the couple's first child.
