HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- The Astros have shut down outfielder Michael Brantley from all baseball activities for the next 3-4 days, manager Dusty Baker said before Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Colorado Rockies.

"They shut him down for awhile to calm that shoulder down," Baker said. "We're gonna give him three or four days where we don't want him to do anything other than probably run and keep his legs sharp."

Baker's revelation came a day after he said Brantley's rehab from August shoulder surgery had "plateaued", which kept ended plans of him taking swings during Jose Urquidy's live BP session on Tuesday. Brantley has not faced live pitching since being pulled from a rehab assignment in early May when it appeared he was set to make his return to the big leagues.

"He's very discouraged, I'm sure," Baker said. "But Michael's a strong man, and we got full faith that he'll be alright."
