Michael Brantley will make his long-awaited return when the Astros visit the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night.

After leaving the Astros game against the Yankees on June 26, 2022 early, Brantley underwent shoulder surgery in August, which ended his 2022 season.. The Team signed him to a one-year, $12 million contract over the winter with the expecation he'd be ready for Opening Day, but he suffered multiple setbacks during his rehab.

Brantley went 8-for-27 with a home run and seven RBI during a seven-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land that concluded on Saturday, his second rehab assignment with the Space Cowboys this season.

The Astros optioned Corey Julks to Triple-A Sugar Land to make room for Brantley on the 26-man roster and DFAd RHP Jake Cousins to open up a spot on the 40-man roster.
