(SportsRadio 610) -- Astros left-handed reliever Brooks Raley has been placed on the injured list due to health and safety protocols.
Right-hander Ralph Garza Jr. has been recalled from Triple A Sugar Land to take Raley's place on the active roster.
Raley picked up his second save of the season in his last outing Sunday against the Cleveland Indians. It was punctuated by him inducing a double play on his first pitch, when he caught and turned into a double play.
Astros manager Dusty Baker noted after the game how difficult that throw can be for a lefty.
Not only that, it was the first time in MLB history for a pitcher to induce a double play on the first pitch of an inning, given the relatively new extra inning rules implemented last season and starting the inning with a runner on second base.
