The start of this seven-game road trip for the Astros did not go particularly well.
They dropped three in a row to the Toronto Blue Jays after beating them handedly in the series opener. The Astros lost 3-2 on back-to-back nights after losing 5-1 on Tuesday. That's five runs scored in three games after the 11-4 victory on Monday.
The Astros are now five games behind the Texas Rangers in the AL West, but that's not even the worst of the news. Yordan Alvarez left Thursday's game after his first at-bat, with an apparent oblique injury, and it's unclear when he will return.
Houston travels to the Cleveland Guardians for a three-game road series before the Astros get their first day off in 17 days.
