The Astros celebrated their second World Series title in the last six years with a parade in Houston on Monday, and fans and players made sure to troll the fanbases of the teams they had knocked out along the way.
As Houston players made their way through the parade, including World Series game six hero Yordan Alvarez, they got in on the “We want Houston” chants that the fans lining the streets had begun reciting in unison, trolling the Yankee fans who chanted the same refrain in the streets of the Bronx after winning game five of the ALDS, and the Phillies fans who did the same after clinching their first World Series appearance since 2009.
The Yankees clearly made it known that they were not ready for Houston, getting swept out of the ALCS, before the Phillies took a 2-1 series lead in the Fall Classic, only for Astros pitching to completely shut down the Philly bats the rest of the way en route to a title.
So, and the franchise celebrated another championship, they made sure to remind their opponents to be careful what they wish for.
