Astros' Framber Valdez falls one out shy of second no-hitter
The Astros beat the Texas Rangers 4-2 on Tuesday night, but they were denied history.
Framber Valdez was just one out away from securing his second career no-hitter. He would've been just the second Astros pitcher ever to do so. Instead, he gave up a two-run, two-out home run to Rangers slugger Corey Seager.
It was a hanging slider that Seager absolutely crushed and Valdez was then pulled from the game in favor of closer Josh Hader. While the tying run did arrive to the plate, the Astros were able to escape with the win.
Payne & Pendergast opened the show discussing it here.
