Astros offer Carlos Correa five-year, $160 million contract: reports

(SportsRadio 610) - The Astros are offering free agent shortstop Carlos Correa a contract worth $160 million over five years, multiple media outlets report.

It is the highest known offer to Correa, the two-time All-Star and one of the all-time best postseason performers for Houston. Before the 2021 season, Correa told reporters he had been offered deals worth $120 million for six years, and $125 million for five years.

This latest offer, however, is not likely to convince Correa to stay. He is reportedly looking for a contract along the lines of his friend and fellow shortstop Francisco Lindor, who signed a 10-year, $341 million with the New York Mets earlier this year.
