(SportsRadio 610) -- Astros manager Dusty Baker revealed Wednesday the Opening Day lineup will be similar to how it looked at the end of spring training with centerfielder Myles Straw returning from COVID-19 protocols.
The most notable changes to the lineup from what Astros fans are accustomed to is Jose Altuve batting leadoff, which was expected based on his place in the batting order during camp.
Altuve replaces George Springer atop the order, with the 2017 World Series MVP signing with the Toronto Blue Jays in free agency.
The Astros also return 2019 American League Rookie of the Year Yordan Alvarez, who missed most of the abbreviated 2020 season to undergo knee surgery.
Alvarez will be the designated hitter and is not expected to play in the outfield.
Here is a look at the Opening Day lineup:
2B Altuve
LF Michael Brantley
3B Alex Bregman
RF Kyle Tucker
SS Carlos Correa
DH Alvarez
1B Yuli Gurriel
CF Straw
C Martin Maldonado
