HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Before Friday's game against the San Diego Padres, the Astros made a flurry of roster moves, placing Michael Brantley, Jason Castro, and Kent Emanuel on the 10-day IL.
Brantley's IL stint is due to tightness in his right hamstring and retroactive to May 25. Brantley missed both games of the Astros series against the Los Angeles Dodgers due to leg soreness, a result of playing on the turf at Globe Life Field in Arlington, according to Astros manager Dusty Baker.
Emanuel was placed on the IL due to left elbow soreness. He hadn't pitched since leaving after four pitches in Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers.
Castro landed on the IL with right achilles soreness.
The Astros replaced them on the roster by activating Framber Valdez from the 10-day IL and recalling Garrett Stubbs and Robel Garcia from AAA Sugar Land.
